( பிரிவுத் துன்பத்தால்) மாயமாய் நின்ற என் உயிர், பொருள் காரணமாகப் பிரிந்து சென்ற காதலரை நினைந்து மயங்குகின்ற இம் மாலைப்பொழுதில் மாய்கின்றது.

This darkening eve, my darkling soul must perish utterly;
Remembering him who seeks for wealth, but seeks not me.
